Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has admitted he isn’t sure on his long term future

Barcelona and Real Madrid have been put on red alert after Cesc Fabregas admits he is undecided over his long-term future.

This summer has seen Arsenal supporters endure the persistant rumour that refuses to go away: that Fabregas will or has signed a pre-agreement with Barcelona.

However Fabregas has moved to quash talk that a deal is already in place. Speaking to Spanish radio Marca the Arsenal star said:

“I haven’t spoken to anyone. What ever happens, happens but at the moment there is nothing.

“I don’t know if I’ll leave the Premier League next year. I’m happy there and it is an important year for the club.”

Despite protests the Spanish International is happy at the Emirates, Arsenal fans will still be concerned about the future of their captain.

The 22-year-old has long been linked with a move back to Spain and many of the Arsenal faithful have resigned themselves to the move happening at some point in the future.

The midfielder has admitted there has been attempts in the past to lure him to La Liga.

“Two or three years ago there was some interest (from Real Madrid), but there has never been anything serious with another team since I joined Arsenal.”

Reports last month hinted a deal was already in place for Barcelona to sign Fabregas which was outrightly rejected by Arsene Wenger.

Fabregas was a product of the Barcelona cantera, leaving the club as a 15-year-old to move to Arsenal. His strong ties with the club have indicated the Camp Nou will probably be his destination at some point in the future.
